The Nitty Gritty:
Summertime and the living is easy. When the weather's fine, your bike is all you need to get around Brooklyn this summer. We'll prove it with the 2nd Annual Tour de Brooklyn.
This year's Tour kicks off from Bedford-Stuyvesant's historic Von King Park (aka Tompkins Park). The 18-mile route will take you through scenic Brooklyn neighborhoods to the northernmost tip of Brooklyn and back again. Stay after and enjoy the Brooklyn Best Festival and join us later on for the Tour de Brooklyn after-party at Brooklyn's most eco-friendly café in Fort Greene, Habana Outpost, for delicious food and drink including free beer (while supplies last) donated by Brooklyn Brewery.
This is a family friendly ride at a leisurely pace, escorted by the police and safety marshals. There will be one rest stop along the way where you can take a break, check out the scenery and grab a complimentary snack.
Never been to Von King Park before? No worries, we're organizing two feeder rides from the Brooklyn Bridge and Grand Army Plaza to get you to the start line on time.
Register before the end of the day tomorrow, Friday May 26th, to be entered into a drawing to win a special, limited edition Bailey Works 253 Courier Bag with the official Tour de Brooklyn logo embroidered on the lid.
Reserve your Tour de Brooklyn t-shirt today, by pre-purchasing these limited edition beauties online. You can pick yours up on Tour Day or have it mailed to you.
Volunteer for the Tour de Brooklyn!
Transportation Alternatives is looking for smart and responsible people to volunteer at the Tour de Brooklyn. Your help is vital to making the Tour a success. We have riding marshal opportunities for people who would like to ride; and assignments at our start, finish, and rest stop for those who'd rather stay off their bike. Groups are welcome for all positions! Check out all of our opportunities and sign up online at tourdebrooklyn.org/volunteer.
The more the merrier! Forward this email to your friends right now and get them in on the fun.
It's free. It's fun. It's the best way to see Brooklyn. To ride, you must register.
